Dead by Daylight our February 2021 Game of the Month!

Stream, survive or slay, anywhere on Google Stadia!

Was hard to pick a game of the month, I wanted to try and maybe “force” myself into Scott Pilgrim, as I really enjoyed the game upon its original release on the PS3. I found myself with my friends playing a lot of Dead by Daylight, so I guess DBD won? 

So if you’ve missed it, Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical game designed by Behaviour Interactive that pits 4 Survivors trapped in an ever changing terror maze, to fix 5 generators while pitted against a Killer. Some killers are famous, some are original, all of them are deadly. You can of course buy killers and survivors ala carte via an in game currency system. (You can also use these purchases to rack up Google Play points!)

So my boyfriend, best friend and I found shelter in surviving the pandemic by surviving being chased and slashed at by these digital monstrosities and found ourselves in a game that had surprising depths, humor and a fan/player base that’s parts hilarious, confusing and often infuriating. 

First off you’re pretty much a n00b at this game till you're like 75-100 hours in. Yeah you read that right. IF you still jump or scream when you get plucked off a gen, then you’re a n00b. Not my rules. So say the forums. I didn’t really get this till I “got” it. Once as a main survivor player you step outside of your fear reactions and try to start applying strategy to the game is really when it gets fun and all hell breaks loose. 

Not gonna go into a list of top killers, or my rated survivor list. There are hundreds of very qualified YouTube content creators out there that live for this game. I merely play and nag about it.

 

So here are my Google Master Tips for Dead by Daylight

Survive with Friends!

SWF is best, the game can be fun with a solo game, as trying to ensure a “team win” when you’re super new isn’t likely out of the gate, lol. 

Don’t be mad @ your friends if they don’t save you!

This is a game, start to and always treat it as one. 

Flashlights suck

Yeah, watch a lot of videos, learn how to use them. Don’t just get one and think you got this then be like “NOOOOP” they take a lot of work. 

Learn your play style

You know how you like to play. Don’t copy your friends builds or listen to just a streamer. Play how you like (I LOVE Diversion/Pebble) 

Every 5-10 Survivor games, play 1-2 Killer games

That’s why you get killer quest too. Playing a killer gives you not just respect for the role, it makes you a better survivor on why you got hit that one time. Or how to hide from their line of sight easier. Either way, load times are faster and it’s fun sometimes to just kill a bunch of people……. I mean… moving on! 

Don’t forget it’s a game!

Everyone wants blood points and has tome quest, don’t tunnel and don’t be mean. Have fun. Laugh. 

Still not sold on Stadia but like the idea of Dead by Daylight? Well, first, DON'T BE, Stadia is amazing! But I get that, and so does DBD! They have a new nifty mobile version out on the play store!

So yeah, Dead by Daylight! It’s amazing fun... at times! I’ll be streaming it throughout the month. (Here's me slaying away previously with one of my test streams)

Now because of the graphic rating obviously not a kid friendly stream or game. I’ll also probably be swearing a lot while playing. (I sometimes forget it’s a game)
