What's with all the gears?

This is episode 2, Attack of the GEARS! Of the FAQs Series about Drake Austin Consulting. In Episode 1, The Phantom Google Master, I talked about what the heck a Google Master was. This time around, I’m gonna tackle my logo and iconography choice of a Gear?

So why so Gearious? Looks like a clock factory exploded up in here!

I don’t know what it is about the gear, but I’ve always loved it as an icon/image and even more as a metaphor. Sure it can be misconstrued as heartless. Cold. Heartless, interchangeable and impersonal. But in my mind's eye I see the opposite. On stage or in front of a camera, if all the actors/actions aren’t perfectly aligned and timed, it’s inauthentic, a bad take. The same can be said for administrative policies & procedures, if every step of departments isn't timed well or in sequence, it’s not a fun experience for the team or the client.

So your policy gears need tightening, that’s why I’m here to help. Check under your hood, see what gears you have now, or maybe you need a few new gears. The timing and rhythm need to be something you can rely on, for it’s stability, efficiency and even beauty.
